ree

The Cape 31 Mediterranean Circuit returns this weekend with Round 4 in the coastal city of Imperia, hosted by Porto Maurizio Yacht Club from 18–20 July. 16 teams from 13 nations are lining up and with just two circuit event remaining in the 2025 season, the battle for the overall race circuit champion title is intensifying—and this round could prove decisive.

Currently leading both the overall and Corinthian/1-Pro season standings is Give Me Five, after a series of commanding performances. Shotgunn holds second overall, with Adrenaline in third, but the competition is fierce throughout the fleet.

Round 4 also marks a key moment in the championship, as the series discard kicks in after this event—allowing each team to drop their worst result from the season so far. This opens the door for teams like Stig, La Pericolosa, Kalantis, and Pacific Yankee to close the gap at the top and mount a serious charge heading into the final event.

The forecast promises a classic mix of conditions: Friday is expected to deliver light and tactical racing, while Sunday looks set for stronger breeze and more full-throttle action—conditions where the Cape 31s really come to life. With new waters and local nuances in play, Imperia offers a fresh challenge for the international fleet.

This is the final event on mainland Europe before the fleet heads to Palma de Mallorca for Round 5 and the Cape 31 European Championship. With momentum, leaderboard position, and bragging rights all up for grabs, Imperia promises three days of high-stakes one-design racing.
