The Cape 31 UK Race Circuit continues this weekend with Round 2 at the Royal Southern Yacht Club’s North Sails Regatta, promising another thrilling installment of high-performance one-design racing on the Solent.
Following a fiercely competitive opening round at the Royal London Yacht Club — where only five points separated the top four boats — all eyes are now on the evolving fleet as the season builds momentum.
Akheilos, skippered by Ben Pritchard, leads the leaderboard after a standout performance in Round 1. Pritchard’s story continues to inspire — having never sailed before his first Cape 31 season in 2023, he now finds himself at the top of one of the UK’s most competitive keelboat fleets.
Round 2 will also mark the Cape 31 debut of Swift Half, helmed by Ben Ward and Anthony Wheatley, who will be joining the circuit for the first time. Their entry brings the total fleet to ten boats, continuing to showcase the depth and growth of the class in UK waters.
Confirmed entries for Round 2:
Jiraffe – Simon Perry
Swift Half – Ben Ward & Anthony Wheatley
Narwhal – Lucian Stone & Jonathan Hewat
Flurg – David Cummins
Jubilee – Tony Dickin
Khumbu – Guy Gillon
Bullit – Julian Metherell
Squirrel – Chris & Laura Anstead
Katabatic – Lance Adams
Akheilos – Ben Pritchard
The racing will take place from 17–18 May and will be hosted by the Royal Southern Yacht Club, supported by title partner North Sails.
With new teams entering, veterans returning, and competition tighter than ever, Round 2 is set to deliver action, drama, and world-class racing.
