Meerblick Dominates ORC3 at PalmaVela Regatta

Otto and Gabriele Pohlmann’s Meerblick left no room for doubt at the Sandberg PalmaVela regatta, storming to victory in the ORC 3 division with a commanding performance in the Bay of Palma. Racing aboard their Cape 31, the German crew capped off a near-flawless series with two emphatic wins on the final day, finishing the event with just three points — the result of one second-place finish and three race victories.

In conditions that tested even the most seasoned teams, with boat speeds reaching up to 23 knots and a number of broken masts across the fleet, Meerblick remained unshaken. Their precision and power in the short-course racing format on Sunday proved too much for their rivals, securing them the ORC 3 title with authority.

Italy’s Sarchiapone Fuoriserie and Spain’s Falapouco, owned by Andrés Manresa, completed the podium in second and third place, respectively.

The PalmaVela regatta once again delivered its trademark mix of Mediterranean drama — choppy seas, sunshine, and high stakes — as over 100 boats competed across 11 classes in one of the most anticipated season openers in European sailing.
