Round 1 - Poole Regatta useful info and social programme

📸 - Ian Roman, Poole Regatta

With Round 1 of the Cape 31 Race Circuit just a few weeks away here is some useful information so you can get your plans in motion.

Training Day

North Sails are running their Training Day on Friday 29th in Poole Bay - a great chance to pick these guys brains about your sails and learn from them. Start time is 1300 to allow those delivering on Friday morning to make it! To secure your spot pop an email to Ben Saxton.

Delivery

It's worth planning how you are getting your boat to Poole - some are planning on towing, some are sailing. Of course going with the tide is favourable, but remember to take into account the tide going into Poole Bay too.

We recommend leaving an hour or two before HW Portsmouth to make sure you get the best tide going out of the solent.

Thursday 28 - HW Portsmouth 11:22

Friday 29 - HW Portsmouth 10:46

Berthing

The Cape 31's will be berthed at Poole Quay Marina for the duration of the weekend.

Free water transport is arranged to and from the local yacht clubs for the social events and the prize giving ceremony and in addition free late night transport by minibus will be available to take you back to wherever your boat is based.

Accommodation

The best and closest accommodation to Poole Quay Marina is the Poole Quay Hotel - many of the Cape teams have already booked in here. Other options - Hotel Du Vin and various self catering options.
