The third round of the 2025 Cape 31 Med Circuit wrapped up in Sanremo this weekend with sunshine, competitive racing, and classic Italian flair. Thirteen teams from nine nations came together at the Sanremo Yacht Club for three days of racing — and although high pressure meant no sailing on Day 2, the fleet still got six high-quality races on the board.

Day 1 – Patience Pays Off
Day 1 brought a long, hot wait ashore before the breeze finally arrived late in the afternoon. The race committee made the most of it, squeezing in three tightly-fought races along the Riviera coastline.
Shotgunn kicked off the regatta with a bullet in Race 1
Stig hit their stride and took both Race 2 and Race 3
Podium finishes also went to Give Me Five, Kalantis, Pacific Yankee, and Squirt, a chartered team from Yacht Club Italiano
Day 2 – No Racing
Saturday was a lay day by default, with high pressure and zero breeze keeping the fleet dockside under blazing sun. Teams made the most of the downtime, catching up, sharing dockside debriefs, and enjoying the Sanremo setting.
Day 3 – Easterly Breeze Brings it Back to Life
Sunday brought redemption with a beautiful easterly breeze blowing along the coast, allowing for three more high-quality races to close out the regatta.
Kalantis stormed Race 4 for their first win of the event
Shotgunn led Race 5 from start to finish in commanding fashion
Give Me Five took Race 6 with a sharp tactical display
Stig showed the consistency needed to win overall — even climbing back through the fleet in trickier races
Final Results
It was Stig, owned by Alessandro Rombelli, who claimed their first overall Cape 31 win, a milestone moment for the Italian team after joining the class last season.
Give Me Five finished second overall, once again proving their strength in the fleet. They also claimed top honours in the Corinthian/One-Pro division.
In third overall, it was Kalantis, an impressive result in their first Cape 31 season and their first-ever event podium.
Just one point off the podium was Pacific Yankee (USA), showing they’re well in the hunt as the season progresses.
Corinthian/One-Pro Podium:
🥇 Give Me Five (FRA)
🥈 Motions (NED)
🥉 Squirt (ITA – chartered by Yacht Club Italiano)
From dreamy race conditions to dockside pasta parties and live music, Sanremo delivered a classic Italian regatta both on and off the water. The Cape 31 Med Circuit now heads to Imperia for Round 4, 18–20 July.
